Yesterday, on the occasion of the Regional Day of the Umbria Region, there was also our champion Costanza among the protagonists who represented the regional excellences at Expo 2020 Dubai, the first universal exhibition organized in an Arab Country, dedicated to the great themes of opportunity, sustainability and mobility.
“For 20 years, thanks to horses and endurance, Dubai and Umbria have shared important experiences – said the young athlete during one of the Regional Day tables in the Italian Pavilion – and I am proud to represent through this discipline is my land, Umbria, a region that has made the values of endurance, nature, ethics and sport a vehicle for cultural, social and economic relations”.
At 22, Costanza is the most successful athlete in Italian endurance and such an achievement, in what is one of the toughest horse sports in the world, is a source of great pride: “Pride to realize the dream of making to coincide my life and my profession with my passions and to do it right in my land, Umbria; and pride in being able to represent my region in the world, fully grasping the opportunity for growth that gives me the opportunity to compete internationally, comparing myself with athletes from all over the world, knowing splendid places and cultures different from mine “.
An important bond has been made between Dubai and Umbria in the name of endurance and horses. “This noble and proud animal has helped to bring out common visions that refer to the opportunity to live in synergy with others and with the environment, respecting nature and enhancing people’s strength and projects. And it is a bond that I feel alive in me every day, when I arrive at the stable in the morning for my training day ”. Italia Endurance Stables & Academy is in fact located in United Arab Emirates Street and the entrance to the stable is from Dubai Square. And this represents a further reason for pride, given that Umbria is the only Italian region that has established this bond in such a strong and perennial way.
The Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia Valerio de Cesaris, Professor Chiara Biscarini, Unesco Chair of the University for Foreigners of Perugia attended the thematic table “Umbria, harmony and emotions” organized at Expo Dubai yesterday, 28 March (resources natural, water), as well as Costanza. Together with her also General Dr. Mohammed Essa Al Adhab – member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the Dubai Racing Club and the Dubai Equestrian Club, who brought the greetings and gratitude of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum: “a great endurance enthusiast and horse lover – said the young Costanza- who has always followed my career with interest and sympathy and who inspired and supported me together with my father Gianluca, world champion 2005 right here in Dubai, and my mother Simona Zucchetta, president of Italia Endurance Stables & Academy “.
Very important was also the participation and intervention of HE Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, a great friend and witness of the precious bond born thanks to endurance.
Danilo Rea’s solo piano concert, curated by Umbria Jazz, closed the speeches by sealing sport and music as great ambassadors of Umbria in the world.
