Our Costanza Laliscia has by now accustomed us to collecting successes and important medals, but the feat she accomplished on Friday 16 June on the occasion of the VIM Italian Endurance Championship 2023 Open in Castiglione del Lago will certainly remain in the annals.
On the saddle of Perseverancia Escondido, chestnut gelding from 2010, Costanza once again climbed to the top step of the Italian podium in the top category of endurance, the CEI3* 160 km, conquering the title of Absolute Italian Champion for the third time.
After a masterful race always lived in the top positions, the Fuxiateam combination crosses the finish line at an overall average speed of 17.866 km/h, with a last loop at 20.501 km/h. The icing on the cake, however, is the exhilarating final sprint of 850 meters which saw Costanza and Perseverancia Escondido reach the peak of 51.2 km/h.
Perseverancia Escondido, in his third race and third consecutive victory under the saddle of Costanza Laliscia, confirmed his ascent and in great shape, as evidenced by the superlative intermediate recoveries and the awarding of the Best Condition Award, like the horse that has crossed the finish line in the best physical conditions.
“The importance of the horse is predominant, it is worth at least 70 percent, it needs to be strong. Today Perseverancia Escondido gave me everything, it was flawless from the first to the last kilometre. Important races like this are prepared in three months in which, in addition to working with the horse, there is also a lot of physical preparation. The final sprint? – adds Costanza – I felt like I was flying.”
With this gold medal added to her palmares, Costanza becomes the athlete to have won the most victories and titles in an Absolute Italian Championship, having three gold and as many silver medals to her credit.
Great emotions therefore for the Fuxiateam on the first day of the tricolor review staged on the banks of the Trasimeno which crowned Costanza Laliscia queen of Italy.
