The green heart of Italy and AlUla are strongly united not only by a consolidated equestrian tradition, but by extraordinary natural landscapes rich in history, art and culture, by sites declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Two tourist destinations, two iconic places that can do a lot for each other in terms of tourism promotion.
AlUla is certainly a dynamic destination for the global equestrian community and for this very reason it has decided to focus on endurance, becoming together with Umbria one of the privileged destinations for equestrian sports tourism and Main Sponsor of the VIM Italian Endurance Championships 2023 Open.
The participation of the AlUla riders in the VIM Italian Endurance Championships 2023 Open is therefore part of a very broad training program, already started with the first and second Training Camp held in AlUla and destined to continue in the future.
Followed by our professionals and coaches, the AlUla riders had the opportunity to participate in an international competition outside Saudi Arabia, thus testing different routes and comparing themselves with the best riders.
In total, 6 Saudi riders participated in the VIM Italian Endurance Championships 2023 Open, of which 3 in the CEI1* 105.7 km and 3 in the CEI2* 120 km; Omar Alblawy, riding Zagara di Chia (Bonorvesu x Gemmha), conquers a fantastic second place in the CEI2* 120 km Open.
The participation of the AlUla riders in the VIM Italian Endurance Championships 2023 Open is therefore only one of the first objectives, but training is always a continuous journey. Learning technical know-how, passion and respect for horses will be only the key points to achieve excellence.
