In football terms, the expression “doblete” indicates the victory of two official competitions in the space of a single sporting season. In equestrian sports, the term doblete is easily attributable to the feat of Costanza Laliscia, who 24 hours after having achieved victory in the Absolute Italian Championship, concedes an encore and also wins the Italian title in the CEI2* 120 km of the VIM Italian Endurance Championships 2023 Open of Castiglione del Lago.
A real endurance test that after a few hours saw our spearhead cover almost 300 km, two days that will go down in the history of Endurance, in the name of Costanza Laliscia, the most successful rider Italy has ever seen was able to express.
The second Italian success for our Costanza Laliscia goes on file at an average of 17.646 km/h with a last lap at 19.917 km/h astride an amazing Etihad du Barthas, a purebred Arab female from 2014, who achieves her third victory consecutive in the distance of 120 km, and wins the ANICA award as the best Arabian thoroughbred in the category.
Fifth match for the last 20 km lap, 1′ 35” from the first, the Fuxiateam duo was the protagonist of a fantastic comeback that saw Costanza and Etihad du Barthas cross the finish line in front of everyone after an exciting final sprint, together with three other pairs, which reached the peak of 54.8 km/h.
“It was definitely a very technical and demanding race. A lot of very competitive horses started with me, but I knew that Etihad du Barthas certainly wouldn’t disappoint me – says Costanza – The final sprint today was amazing too, I had fun.”
To further enhance the results of the Fuxiateam, the wonderful third place, in the Italian Junior & Young Riders Championship, of Greta Bistoletti riding Demon Melograno who cross the finish line at an overall average of 17.945 km/h with a last lap at 21.563 km /h.
A gold medal a day, two Italian titles in just 36 hours for Costanza Laliscia and a bronze medal for Greta Bistoletti, a perfect epilogue to a memorable day that will go down in history.
