Last weekend the Fuxiateam achieved a formidable double in Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi (PV) where the fifth stage of the FISE Circuit 2024 took place. It is the best summary to describe a weekend which saw the Italia Endurance Stables & Academy team of the president Simona Zucchetta as protagonist.
In fact, two more gold medals went into the archive: that of the Italian champion Costanza Laliscia and Besalis Agylla in the CEI1* over 100,5 km and that of Federico Valeri on Demon Melograno in the Juniors & Young Riders category over the distance of 120 km.
After a ride always in the top positions, the top rider of the Fuxiateam won the 100,5 km ride at an average speed of 19,051 km/h, crossing the finish line over 22 minutes ahead of the second place, the Swiss Athena Costantini .
It might seem like yet another success for the multiple champion Costanza Laliscia, but the first-place riding Besalis Agylla had a special flavor: in fact, the 7-year-old Arabian thoroughbred is the first product of the “Agylla” breeding of Italia Endurance Stables & Academy to win an international competition and obtain qualification for the 120 km races.
“It was a truly exciting race – commented Costanza Laliscia – Besalis Agylla, the first born in our breeding farm, won an international race for the first time and the sensations in the saddle were wonderful and worthy of highly experienced horses, despite he is still very young.”
Great quality and continuous study of the best genetic lines for endurance, this is the focus of the Italia Endurance Stables & Academy breeding project, which sees excellent maturity in its products right from the start.
Also of a high level was the performance of Federico Valeri and Demon Melograno, who won the CEIYJ2* on a 121,5 km track: a ride conducted alone from the first to the last kilometre, in which the combination demonstrated a strong mental strength that allowed him to cross the final finish line at an average speed of 15,450 km/h.
Adding prestige to the excellent performances of the Fuxiateam is also the Best Condition award that the veterinary commission awarded to the two Arabian thoroughbreds, Besalis Agylla and Demon Melograno, for the excellent physical conditions in which they completed the two race categories.
The latest victories in Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi demonstrate not only the individual talent of the two Fuxiateam duos, but also the collective work and long-term vision of the team, which confirms that it possesses the skills, strategy and passion necessary to continue to excel and bring a demanding sport like endurance to the highest levels.
